Ceremonial cacao is more than just a delightful drink; And in my opinion should be added into every day as both a relaxing ritual and for it's incredible range of health benefits.


This recipe is skin, joint and gut loving, antioxidant rich decadence.

Why you'll love it.


Raw, organic Cacao packs a powerful antioxidant hit but personally, my favourite reason for incorporating Cacao in my diet is the iron hit it provides. I don't eat much red meat and a Cacao a day keeps my iron levels in good shape. Whether you're seeking a comforting pick-me-up in the morning or a soothing evening indulgence, ceremonial cacao can offer a rich, velvety experience that nourishes both body and soul. I've levelled up this recipe with a powerful hit of high quality collagen. Collagen is one of my absolute favourite health supplements for it's of ease of use and it's huge range of health benefits. Shaklee's Collagen 9 is my fave for many reasons but in this particular recipe, it's high level of Vitamin C helps with the iron absorption so I get the full benefits from the Cacao. Top tip: Both Collagen and plant based Iron require Vitamin C for appropriate absorption and to get the greatest health benefits.


These are my top reasons for adding Collagen into your diet every day.

Ingredients


Optional extras.

  • Cinnamon

  • Organic, natural Peppermint extract

  • Organic, natural Orange extract

Method


Step 1

Heat water to 80 degrees celsius - This preserves that antioxidants in the cacao


Step 2

Scoop one tbs of cacao into a jug suitable for using a stick blender. Add one stick of Collagen 9 Collagen


Step 3

Pour 30ml of heated water over the cacao.


Step 4

Blitz the Cacao and water mixture. Add any extracts your using at this step.


Step 5

Heat your milk. I do this using the milk steamer on my barista style coffee machine. You can also microwave it or bring to a heat on the stove top. - Make sure the milk doesn't heat past 80 degrees celsius. If you're using the microwave or stove top methods you'll want to froth the milk once heated with either a frother or a stick blender.


Step 6

Combine the Cacao mixture and frothed milk in your favourite mug and enjoy.
